- Help Us!
To adopt an animal from ACHS:
- Fill out the adoption application. This lets us get to know you and what you’re looking for in a companion.
- After we receive your questionnaire we will review it and contact you. A home visit may be a part of the adoption process.
- Meet your next best friend.
- If your family and the cat are a good match in personality and lifestyle, then proceed with the adoption process which involves an adoption agreement and a donation to assist with veterinary care as we prepare your pet for adoption. Donation amounts vary case by case.
Please bear in mind that ACHS is an all-volunteer organization. It may take a few days for an adoption coordinator to contact you. If you do not hear from ACHS within a week, please call us at (740) 592-6047 (leave a voicemail) or e-mail email@example.com.
ACHS does not offer dogs for adoption. The Athens County Dog Shelter, the county-run shelter (which is not a part of the Athens County Humane Society), has many dogs and puppies in need of homes. Please visit their Web site to find a dog!
