Finding a Home for a Cat
Athens County Humane Society does not have a Cat Shelter, however we do have a small Adoption Program. We are 100% foster home based so there can be a wait list to get in to our Adoption Program. We can only accept friendly, social kittens and cats. Please fill out the following Intake Form and a volunteer will be in touch. - CLICK HERE

STRAY & FERAL COMMUNITY CATS
The Athens County Humane Society offers assistance spaying and neutering stray and feral cats through or Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Program,
TNR is a humane and effective approach for stray and feral cats. Scientific studies show that Trap-Neuter-Return improves the lives of feral cats, improves their relationships with the people who live near them, and decreases the size of colonies over time. Cats are humanely trapped and taken to a veterinarian to be neutered and vaccinated. After recovery, the cats are returned to their home—their colony—outdoors. Kittens and cats who are friendly and socialized to people may be adopted into homes.
TNR stops the breeding cycle of cats, improving their lives while preventing reproduction.
