To reduce the suffering of unwanted animals, spaying and neutering is essential. We know not everyone can afford the cost, so ACHS helps low income residents of Athens County by offering reduced cost spay and neuter clinics.

Additional costs
A rabies vaccine is required on the day of surgery for an additional $10. If your pet has already received a rabies vaccine, you must provide a rabies certificate or vet invoice (a tag is not sufficient).
There is a $25 non-refundable deposit collected at sign-up. If you no-show for your scheduled clinic date after you have confirmed, you will lose this deposit and will need to re-register.
INCOME QUALIFICATION
To qualify for reduced spay or neuter prices you must:
1. Provide proof of Athens Co. residency with a photo I.D., utility bill, etc.
2. Provide proof of financial assistance from one of the listed qualifications - •Ohio Works First schedule letter •Ohio Direction Card •WIC card •Section 8 housing voucher •Ohio Medicaid Card •Veterans Benefits Administration letter acknowledging service-related disability •Supplemental Security Income benefits letter •Disability benefits letter from the Social Security administration •Current tax return showing that your family income does not exceed 150% of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services poverty guidelines (Bank statements and pay stubs do not qualify) *
