ADOPTING
Athens County Humane Society has wonderful pets available: local animals that need homes, and have received veterinary care. Working with the county shelter, with veterinarians, and with our terrific foster volunteers, we place healthy animals in happy homes.

Looking for a new home for a pet or found animal?
Unfortunately, our fosters are at capacity, so we cannot accept any more animals at this time. We can support by reaching out to our local network of animal lovers through our facebook page. If you share a few photos and some information about the animal you're looking to home, we will post it to our social media. Fill out our courtesy post form.
Fostering a pet is a great way to help!
We're looking for foster homes to provide a temporary place for animals before adoption. ACHS does not have a shelter, so we depend on our network of fosters to give caring homes to animals in need before they are adopted.
Fostering is an important volunteer service that directly helps animals in need. It may be for a few days or for a few months—each situation is unique. Please consider volunteering to help animals in this way and fill out our foster application.
