What to do when you find kittens
If you find a litter of kittens, or a single kitten alone, don’t assume they’ve been abandoned. In most cases, the best thing you can do is leave them be. Kittens have the highest chance of survival when they remain with their mother. Outdoor, feral, or unsocialized female cats choose many different places to give birth: storm drains, barns and sheds, under houses and decks, or in bushes and tall grass.


3-legged Gabby is ready for a home
Dan Hughes found a badly injured cat along the road in Athens County. One of the poor cat’s legs had been fractured in three places. Without veterinary care, the bones had begun to reconnect at bad angles, forming an unusable leg. Correcting this would mean putting the cat through the trauma of rebreaking the leg at all three points. Cats missing a leg get around quite well, and it was decided that removing the damaged leg would be best. This surgery was performed at our clin
