Meet Jade Mourn, founder of Nelsonville Community TNR & Rescue. Jade is a passionate advocate for Nelsonville’s community cats, dedicating her time, energy, and heart to ensuring these often-overlooked animals receive the care they need. Jade began her rescue efforts by helping a few stray cats around town. What started as a small act of kindness has grown into a mission to trap, neuter, and return (TNR) community cats, provide food and veterinary care, and find loving homes

If you find a litter of kittens, or a single kitten alone, don’t assume they’ve been abandoned. In most cases, the best thing you can do is leave them be. Kittens have the highest chance of survival when they remain with their mother. Outdoor, feral, or unsocialized female cats choose many different places to give birth: storm drains, barns and sheds, under houses and decks, or in bushes and tall grass.
